Outfitted with state-of-the art video and sound equipment, the exquisitely furnished rooms can accommodate groups from 6-30 and feature one of the most comprehensive music video library’s available anywhere (offered in a choice of English, Korean, Chinese or Japanese languages). A “butler button” in each room assures the uninterrupted food, cocktail and music needs of every guest throughout the evening. And a choice of professional lighting completes the stage for a once-in-a-lifetime performance experience.

As befitting any fantastic voyage, especially one to the ocean’s depth, dining and drinking at Orchid is at once both daring and safe. Under the direction of native Hawaiian Robin Moe, a protege of the Islands prodigal son Roy Yamaguchi, the kitchen features contemporary Pacific Rim cuisine heavily influenced by rare ingredients imported directly from Hawaii. For an adrenaline rush, try Moe’s version of Hawaiian Poke – a wonderful mixture of ahi tuna, fresh Hawaiian Ogo (seaweed), volcanic salt, sesame oil, soy and Japanese pepper. For those that like to play it closer to home, the wood-grilled 12-ounce Ribeye steak with Portobello mushroom sauce is sure to have even the most demanding of carnivores nodding in approval

Drinkers will think they have died and gone to heaven. Shaken or stirred, an intoxicating 170 high-end brands of alcohol line the bar’s illuminated shelves. But the choices don’t end there. Located in heart of Koreatown, Orchid has adopted the Korean penchant for ordering by the bottle by adapting it to contemporary standards. If desired, guests can enjoy their favorite brand in what is called a “flight.” Consisting of a drink caddie holding (12) 2-ounce glass flasks filled with a choice of alcohol, a “flight” is the perfect alternative for serious drinkers who like things their way. Throw in a creative martini menu, a well-conceived wine list and a comprehensive line of StarbucksÒ coffees, and visitors to Orchid are in for a treat.

Owned and operated by native Angelenos Robert, Darryl and Alan Ng, three brothers who are part of the new breed of young turks determined to change the landscape of Los Angeles nightlife. No strangers to the hospitality industry, the trio (of Chinese and Korean ancestry) boasts a grandfather that owned one of the most successful bars in Chinatown during the 1930s and parents that founded the revered Do Hwa (Plum Blossom) Restaurant in Hillhurst, a Korean favorite during the 1980s. All USC graduates, the closely-knit brothers are committed to bringing something fresh and exciting into an area of Los Angeles all but forgotten, until now.
